East Kent Railway

The East Kent Railway is a 2 mile heritage railway on an ex-industruial route that was once part of a large network of coal mines. The railway runs most sundays throughout the year, with the exception of winter months. During the 2000's and 2010's they were best known for their running of electric multiple units (rare in preservation), but with most normal services operated by DMU's.

The railway was home to home to Class 101,Class 107 and Class 108 sets at various times.

In 2017 the railway's structure changed and it was descided to move away from First Generation DMU's, at this point all of the vehicles on site were moved on and a three year period followed without any railcars.

In 2020 the railway went in a new direction following the preservation of a Class 142 unit, many of which were entering preservation at the time.
