Preservation Information
143623 was the 10th member of the class to be preserved after it was secured for use by theKeighley & Worth Valley Railway in November 2021, as a spare parts donor for mechanically similar 144011. The set arrived separately in two parts, with DMS 55666 arriving first.

On arrival 143625, although complete, was immediately stored ready to be stripped of any parts required for 144011. It was however kept in once piece and technically operational, the systems being run up on several occasions. After the set was formed up together again following arrival of the second vehicle, it was found to be in fully operational condition with minimal work.

In November 2022 143625 was used for filming work and was run in multiple successfully with 144011 as a result. More filming was undertaken in January 2023.

In October 2023 143625 was used in passenger service at the Railcar Weekend (and Railcar Association Convention) where it was suggested that the set had a use with an operational future - albeit a limited one as it had a few features such as thin wheelsets which required looking after.

143625 remains in operational condition and sees limited use as required.
